August 13 News/Festival canceled and refunds
Dear Watermelon Festival Community. It is with heavy heart that we announce we are closing down the Festival after 16 years.

Watermelon Park Campground has chosen this time to inform us that they no longer wish us to hold the Watermelon Park Fest at their campground. We had been told since May that we could move the Festival to 2021 due to the Covid postponement. We were taken by surprise by this sudden change of heart and the timing couldn’t have come at a worse time for us. We are devastated. The only explanation we got was that their business is doing so well because of Covid that they don’t need us anymore.
We will be offering refunds and an option to donate to Shepherds Ford Productions at this time. Shepherds Ford Productions is going to try and stay alive and bring you some smaller events as we move into the future. We will also be looking for a new event location. We hope we can re-group and hold another family music festival next year when we know how the pandemic is playing out. Thank you all for 16 wonderful years together. Although this is the saddest news to deliver we know that in 16 years we all created the the best possible family festival experience and we will do it again in a brighter future.
 (refund deadline Sept. 17)
Some folks have asked us to add a paypal donation link so here it is:

July 14 News/Covid-19 update

Due to the uncertainty surrounding the corona virus we have made the very difficult decision to postpone this year’s 17th annual Watermelon Park Fest to September 16-18, 2021. We do not know if we will be allowed to have a gathering the size of our event this September. We feel like it is just too risky for everyone involved to move forward in the planning for this year.
All festival passes and RV sites purchased for 2020 will be automatically be transferred to the 2021 event at this time.

On May 8th we made this announcement to all ticket holders and on our website “Please understand that the deadline for refunds is May 20th. If we do have to postpone, your ticket will automatically transfer to the event in September 2021”. We appreciate everyone’s patience, flexibility and support. For those of you who held on to your ticket, we want you to know that your decision to do so has enabled us to keep this event going, and for that we thank you. If you have questions or have special circumstances where you need to request a refund please email us at
As you all know, this is a challenging year for music festivals and the musicians that rely on them. We appreciate your support in keeping the music festival tradition alive and supporting live music. We are going to miss seeing everyone this year at our annual gathering. After 16 years of getting together every fall, we have grown up and older as a family. As sad as it will be to miss this year’s event, we know that it will be all the sweeter when we do gather down by the river again.
Be well and stay positive! We will get thru this by staying supportive and connected with each other. See you all next year!

May 8 News/Covid-19 update
Hello everybody.
We hope that everyone in our Watermelon music community is healthy and safe. We miss seeing all of you at the many music concerts, events and gatherings that have been cancelled so far this year. We hope we will be seeing you soon.

We want to share with you our plans moving forward with the 17th annual Watermelon Park Festival. To prepare for the possibility that we may be forced to postpone this year’s event (due to the uncertainty of Covid-19) we have reached out to the venue at Watermelon Park Campground and to all the Artists booked for this year’s event. Both the venue and all the artists booked for 2020 are prepared and on board to move the event to Sept. 16-18, 2021 if we need to postpone this year. This is good news and means if we have to postpone this year’s 2020 event your tickets will still be valid for the event in 2021. We are moving forward hoping that the event can go on as scheduled in 2020 and we are secure in knowing we have a solid backup plan already in place.
Because of the challenges many of us are facing, we realize that some folks are having financial hardships and may be in need of a refund to get thru this tough time. If this is your situation and you need a refund please contact us from now until May 20th by emailing us at
Please understand that the deadline for refunds is May 20th. If we do have to postpone, your ticket will automatically transfer to the event in September 2021.
Thanks for all your patience, understanding and as always for your support.
